Producers in the southwest are furthest along, with 34 per cent already seeded, with famers benefiting from dry weather. Last year at this time, only two per cent of the crop had been seeded in the region.
Elsewhere around the province, 14 per cent of the crop has been seeded in the southeast, eight per cent in the west-central region, seven per cent in the northwest, three per cent in the east-central and two per cent in the northeast.
